I want to purify my h2o for drinking and watering plants.
My naturopath says I should buy a distiller, but my wife wants me to get a reversosmosis machine.
What is better for home use (2 adults plut 1 spoiled cat & 10 houseplants)
What has lower maintenance
What produces better water quality ?
Any help is appreciated !!!

The best POU purifier is reverse osmosis.
R/O will be cleaner, easier and better for the environment.
The only thing RO doesn't do well is bacteria, so you still need to boil your water if you have a BWA in your area

use ro with a silver impregnated ceramic postfilter or a good ultrafilter to protect from bacteria

I agree with ion. You might also consider pH neutralization if those plants can't handle a water pH below 7.0

Can RO take salt out of water?

tnahpele, RO will definitely remove salt, but you have bigger problems than just the taste in your situation. That salty water can corrode pipes, faucets and fixtures in your home.
