howdy, we're looking at getting a water softener. Our internet research has lead us to this website and also the doityourself.com site.
Greg, I see you post on diy.com also, but I was looking at these posts from Jason's water systems-

http://forum.doityourself.com/water-softeners-air-filtration-systems/391950-how-choose-softener.html

http://forum.doityourself.com/water-softeners-air-filtration-systems/369046-help-buying-water-softener.html

I also went to their website > http://www.jasonswater.com/

My parents had one of there systems in Houston and weren't happy, so I don't think I really want to use this company unless they are the only legal systems in Texas.

They say that all the other water softener are undersized and that theres is the only one that is certified to be high enough flow. is this true, are there any other options we can use?

 According to these clowns, they're the only one in the nation that's even legal to install. WTF?

I've had my issues with culligan, kinetico, hague, sears and all the other big-box wannabes but they don't sell illegal systems! - Have any of you heard of these yahoos?

I clicked on your links, but didn't see them mentioned. What did their posts say?

I am familiar with the company. They definitely aren't the only "legal" system out there, that's just silly.

It looks like you're in San Antonio ?
If so, I'd recommend you work with one of the very best service plumbing outfits in Texas:-

George Plumbing Company
www.yell4george.com
(210) 495-9991

Ask for George or Clay. They're good people and have access to all the latest technologies and high flow systems.
