I just watched an amazing infomercial about the Aquavie healthy water system.Has anyone tried this; and how does it work??

It's a distiller - their online video is very well done, but still just a distiller.
I like reverse osmosis much more since its a closed system = no place for airborne bacteria to accumulate and all waster is sent to the drain not handled by the homeowner

Is RO water as good as distilled, will it taste the same?
Does a RO need to be permanently installed or can I take it with when I move it ?
I got really excited by the aquavie, is this RO deal as good ?
thanks !

RO & distillation are both methods of water purification removal of greater than 90% of TDS)
Distillation boils the water and then condenses it.
RO forces the water against a semi-permeable membrane that selectively rejects ions based on ionic size (>= 0.001 micron) and molecular weight.
Distillation has the advantage of killing most bacteria, but consumes electricity and has an evaporator pan to clean. Distillation doesn't address pesticides, herbicides, & some THM's - so if you do choose a distiller, make sure there is GAC post-filtration. I don't like the fact that the water is open to atmosphere.
RO doesn't address bacteria, but any good system will include silver-caramic post filtration element/s. I've used UF cartridges or self-cleaning uf membranes also, with great success.
The RO process does discard water and some people erroneously call this waste. When you think about it though, the discharge water is NOT WASTE, since it goes back into the ground eventually. RO is MUCH MORE environmentally friendly than RO - your carbon footprint is significantly lower - no electricity, no harsh chemicals to clean the pan.
My money's on RO !
